Equipo Rubio

Hola a todos!

It’s getting harder and harder to go between Spanish and English. Let me tell you. Wow.

We were in Viejo San Juan today for an Actividad de Zona and I had the hardest time talking to the toursitas. Not that I’m a Boriquen now, it’s just thinking in two languages takes So. Much. Energy. I can definitely feel el don del linguas en mi vida.

La gran don

Hola a todos!

Wow why do I never seem to have time to email you all? I hope you’re getting a little piece of my life when I email. I’m trying to actually write things that you guys might care about.

This week we had splits with the hermanas entrenador. I don’t know what to call them in English, but they’re so sweet! I left my area to go visit Trujillo Alto for a day.  I worked in a few caseríos and got to meet a bunch of really sweet people with some really hard lives. If you don’t already know, caserios are governemnt owned buildings in groups. I can only really relate it to The Projects. Don’t worry though, i’m being safe. 🙂

Perrrritos

Hola a todos!

They call this my third week, but it feels like it hasn’t even been that long.

Let’s start out by talking about my new mom (this might sound kinda weird) Hermana Alicia Tingey. Yup I know, right? My trainers name is the same as my mom’s and let’s get even weirder, she’s only got two transfers left in her mission. As soon as I’m done with training she’s going home. So, I’m killing my mom (trainer) in May and then I’ll be left here to be the senior companion in the area.

Que Chevre

Hola a todos!

I don’t have a lot of time here today. We’re trying to get a ride to the grocery store and so my time is cut short. But I want to convey my love to you all and I hope that you all know that even if I can’t reply to your emails specifically they’re all read and treasured lots! I love receiving pics and hearing about stupid day to day stuff tambien!

Beware los frecos

Hola a todos!

I’m still at the CCM and counting down the days until I get to venture out into el campo. As I previously mentioned before, I’m antsy as heck to get out there to preach the words of mi Padre Celestial. There’s one thing I didn’t bring with me that everyone here has (besides shampoo) and that’s pictures of their families!  I have some pictures of a few of my friends and a pic of Maggie and Tilley, but none of mi familia! So if you don’t mind, I need a few decent pictures of our family to tape into the back of mi libro de mormons. If you send them to PR there’s more of a chance that i’ll get them. I still have not received the letters from dad or gma sue… so I’m hoping they’ll get here before I leave.

Cringe Squad

Hola a todos!

I’ve been here for three weeks now and I’ve only converted like 6 people. Just kidding, I rarely ever leave the compound. it’s beautiful here, pero I have the hardest time just hanging out in my classroom when I can hear the trees moving outside. I’m constantly leaning out this window in my classroom that oversees these cute little apartment buildings. the biggest problema is that the window only opens up like half way so I can’t really fit my whole body out to sit on the ledge. It’s probably a safety thing, but if they would just let me outside more often I might not try climbing out the window so much.
