¡ Ay Bendito !

Hola a todos!

First things first, let me tell you this: I am still in Carolina with my same companion. I know I know, you’ll just have to wait until the next transfer to see if I go anywhere more ‘exotic’. So, it looks like I’ll be here for probably one of the most exciting days of my life!

I didn’t want to say anything until after the interview, but my first baptism is on Jueves! It’s my investigator de oro Beatriz! She’s a real light in my time here in Carolina. She is definitely lista para bautizarse. I’ll send pictures this next P day of the event.

She got to meet Elder Anderson and his wife this last week and Presidente said they specifically asked him to thank us and give them updates on Beatriz. They really liked her and thoughts she was cool! How awesome is that! An apostle wants to keep tabs on MY Beatriz! She told them she was an investigator and that she was going to be baptized soon and she said she felt so happy and loved when Hna Anderson spoke in the conference she attended. Beatriz has a real love for listening to the apostles now. She is reallllllly excited for conference.

Also, I have to say just one thing from the missionary conference de Elder Anderson. He is expecting us to double the amount of converts in three months! Can you believe it? He gave us a promise that we would find miracles here and that if we look for people with purpose and in perfect obedience we will find them. I’m excited to share this Gospel with people. I’m excited to see what is in store for me in the next 16 meses.

I keep being told that I’m going to find a lot of success here. I’m told that there’s a rumor in the mission that if you baptize in training that you’ll baptize hecka during the rest of the mission because it’s usually hard to get a baptism within the first 12 semanas. Here’s to hoping I can find that success! As Elder Anderson says, The Future is Bright in Puerto Rico!

As you may know having a companion is hard. I’ve been living and working with the same person for 6 weeks now and I’m sure she’s tired of me. That’s just what happens when you have a strong personality. We’ve connected as a companionship over the killing of muchisimos cockroaches and the one time we found maggots in the trash. We’ve had days where we find no success and both end up going to bed wondering what we’ve been doing wrong. We share comida de china on P day and mostly importantly we strive to bring people closer to Christ together.

La vida es duro pero we become better missionaries every day and I’ve definitely gotten a lot better at comforting people. My companion has a habit of crying a lot and heaven knows I’m not comfortable around those kind of emotions, pero Dios has given me this companion for a reason and I think it’s because he wants me to learn to love and comfort others. Alex can testify, I am not a hugger but guess what? I hug at least 10 people a day here. That’s just how people greet each other. I have a testimony that there is nothing I am perfect at. I can always improve as a person and I hope that through this wonderful time I have here as a missionary I can work on myself and grow to become more Christ like. That’s all anyone can hope for really!

This is a menos activos llamado Maricel. She’s amazing! She makes us pasteles de ganeo every time we come over.

This is one of my investigator llamado Maria De Los Angeles. She has a hard time giving up fumando so I made her a box of fake cigarillos with scriptures on them so she can look up scriptures when she has a deseo a fumar. I don’t know if I told you guys about that yet but oh well…

Este es Franceska. Ella es us buenisimo miembro.

LOL, sorry this is upside down, but we felt cute. And yes, I wore space buns to the conference with Elder Anderson. He thought they were ‘fun’.
