Here’s a chisme (joke) for all my Spanish speaking friends. if you don’t get it, don’t worry about it. It doesn’t make sense in English really.
?Porque Nefi y su familia no muerten en la deserto? Porque Lehi estableció su tienda.
LOLOLOL Well, hopefully someone got my little joke. 🙂
Ever since Elder Anderson visited us here in Puerto Rico, I’ve been obsessed with studying about miracles and how we can make them happen. I marked-up my scriptures a ton and did a lot of studying of the life of Nefi. He is a HUGE inspiration for me and how I, a ‘lil gringa from Utah, can make miracles happen here in Carolina. President Anderson blessed us to receive miracles and I have the faith that it will happen. I have the faith that he is an apostle of God and that he has received revelation for our mission.
I had the opportunity to go on splits again with the Sister Trainers and they specifically requested me to make them dinner before hand. So with my master chef skills, I made French onion soup with homemade focaccia bread. They were amazed and told me that without a doubt, one day I would have to be a mission president’s wife like Hermana Boucher because she’s well known for her fabulous cooking.
It’s always a good day when she makes the mission food for a conference. (Don’t let anyone know but I actually think mom’s cooking is better) But just so you can get a taste of what we ate this week, imagine this: shrimp scampi with a side of locally grown fruit made into fruit salad and focaccia garlic bread. We eat good and I’m genuinely convinced that the Lord is blessing us.
Carmen and her daughter Julie accepted fechas last week and are set to be baptized on 6 Mayo 2017. Julie’s daughter Erika gave birth on Monday last so we haven’t been able to teach her, but I’m sure once she feels better we’ll be able help her feel closer to Christ as well.
I don’t have a scripture for you today because I have a video. It’s called Principe de Paz or in English Prince of Peace. It’s the Pasqua (Easter) video that the church put out this year. I hope you can all watch it. It’s on Mormon.org or Youtube. Just search for the title. It’s very beautiful and inspriring. I challenge each of you to watch it and share it with either a friend or family member personally on Facebook or through text. We can all benefit from the knowledge of Christ and his sacrifice for us.
