[Quick note from Madeline’s Dad: This will seem like a quick note because most of the email was about ideas for us to send her for Christmas. The holidays are also very busy as a missionary, so she won’t have as much time for writing.]
I found the perfect Mexican family here, and they have a million beautiful hijos y sobrinos so I’ll probably just marry one of them bc I love this family. They taught me how to make tortillas, tortas, sopes, pasole, tamales, horchata, you name it. She’s helping me learn the art of making chili aka salsa rn. They are beautiful people inside and out.
If you ever get the chance, try pupusas. For those who are less adventurous, order chicken and cheese pupusas. They’re like the El Salvadorian version of a quesadilla. But for if you enjoy flavor… also get pollo y queso <chicken and cheese> but put the vinagre veggies <cole slaw> on it and salsa. The ratio of a bite should be 2 vinagre veggie <cole slaw>:1 pupusa. That’s the best way to eat it. Ugh. I’m hungry.
I have legit no info about returning to Puerto Rico. Please forward me any and all updates you get.
P.S. Are you guys doing anything with light the world? If not consider this your call to the work. D y C <D&C> 11: 1-4
