Jesús te ama (Jesus loves you)

Hola a todos! <Hello Everyone>

Thank you all for making Christmas magical and fun! I enjoyed every minute of it and I cannot express how much fun the holidays are on the mission. I learned so much and was able to find so many ways to try and be like my savior. How cool is it that even trying to be like him makes us happier people?

A big part of the work here is long-term work; helping wards, members, and less actives. It’s harder to find Latinos just knocking doors here so the work is definitely a lot slower here than in Puerto Rico, especially because almost all of our investigators went to Mexico for the holidays jaja. So we improvised and tried to come up with a good way to spend time and make the holidays better for people who couldn’t enjoy the holidays.

So we made up a bunch of cookies and cakes and brownies thanks to my parents, members here, and my grandma sue and we made goodie bags of homemade treats for homeless people of downtown San Bernardino. It was so cool just getting to hear their stories and making their days brighter. We met a cool bunch of people and really felt like representatives of Christ.

We also visited some less active members who live in hospice care and made them feel loved. We even tried to visit less active members who didn’t have a lot of family, but all we got were small family parties and lots of tamales. Don’t get me wrong, I loooooove tamales, but wow. I have eaten my body weight in tamales in the last month. I love/hate it.

Sorry, I can’t tell you much more, I’m low on time. We’ll just have to talk more about it next week. Or when I get home from the mission – if you can wait that long 😉

Fotos:

1: Christmas dinner was tacos de cabeza. They didn’t expect us to like it, but it’s actuallllllly really good.

2: Another Christmas dinner, we had Guatemalan sweet tamales. Yum.

3: I met a cat and it let me hold it for a long time. The best Christmas present I got!

4: Only the beginning of what we made! We handed out 60+ bags of treats with an assortment of treats in each!

5: When you don’t have time for a third dinner what do you do but eat in the car on the way to the next dinner!

6: We made tiny sushi. Thanks, Dad!

7: Don’t know if you can read this, but it was the best moment in our DyC <D&C> Apples to Apples game. Jajajja

Les quiero mucho <Love you very much>,
Hermana Thelin
